Auction Success Story – October

A ‘spirited fight’ in the auction room for piece of beach paradise

35 Rauparaha Street is it’s own little piece of paradise. Located in the heart of the Waikanae Olde Beach area, it’s within walking distance to both the beach and popular cafes and shops.

The auction was held just in time for the new owners to be able to move in for summer and enjoy Christmas at the beach. There’s no question as to why this was an enticing proposition for people looking to buy. Having more than a quarter acre of land, there’s plenty of room for sporting contests and extra tents to park up. With the modern home and an expansive deck as well, there’s many great sunny spots for all to enjoy.

After investing in an extensive marketing programme, the vendors were reluctant to bring the auction forward, despite the significant interest received. Instead, we held the property on the market for 43 days. This ensured we reached all potential buyers, and allowed them plenty of time to prepare themselves for auction day.

Given the fantastic location and the size of the section, the amount of interest received came as no surprise for this Waikanae Auction.

Throughout the campaign, listing agent Ray Marshall took 92 groups through the property. From this, it brought a good number of bidders to the room on auction day.

Ray described it as being a “spirited fight” in the auction room.

With 43 bids recorded for this Waikanae auction, there was certainly a lot of backwards and forwards between bidders – no one wanted to miss out! While we do only ever have one of each to sell, the transparent nature of auctions ensures that everyone has a chance to give it their best shot.

Eventually, the hammer came down at 1.91 million. Selling at 155% above RV, this was a new record sale for the Waikanae Olde Beach area.

Ray explains that the owners were fantastic to work with throughout the property campaign. They gave him free reign, entrusting him to do what he does best, and get a fantastic result come auction day. As it often happens, this ended up getting them the best possible result.

The lucky new owners will soon get to open the gates and park up at their new home in a dreamy Waikanae Olde Beach location. After their auction day success, they can soon enjoy all that the house and the area has to offer.
